		w Welcome to the UW Madison SciFi Club!
		Current Updates! -July 18- Hello everyone! This is just to let you know that SciFi Club's home on the Internet is changing. As you can probably tell, this site doesn't get updated much. This largely due to the fact that it is difficult to do so. As such, SciFi Club is moving HERE. It'll be back to the good old days of blogger. :) Less official is actually easier I guess. If you are new and looking to join us, please feel free to check out our new site, or our forum (quiet though it is). New site Forum And as usual, if you have any questions feel free to email me. :) -Louise -January 24- Hello and welcome to SciFi Club at UW Madison! The first meeting for this year will be Jan 25th. We'll be in our usual room, 1651 Humanities. For anyone new, it's on the first floor, in the corner on the Park St. side of the building. Thursday January 25th will be a Movie Night. This will be the "Bring Whatever You Think Is Cool" sort of thing, and we'll vote and watch the top two. :) Thursday February 1st will be the "Official Kick-off Night". It'll be a gaming night, so I will supply LOTR Trivial Pursuit, random cards, Star Wars Monopoly or LOTR Risk (If you'd prefer one let me know...) and possibly one or two surprise games. Feel free to bring some of your own too! Console games are also encouraged, though you'll need to supply the console, I only have a PS1... As usual, since this is SciFi Club, don't worry if you miss a meeting, we're very informal. And feel free to email me if you've got any questions! Upcoming events: -Student Org Fair: It's on Monday January 29th. I will be there at 4:00 PM to do the set-up and it will continue until 8:00 PM. If you'd like to stop by and visit or help out either with decorations for our half of the table, or with staffing the table, let me know! It can be a lot of fun. -Movies: The trip to "The Fountain" seemed a success, so I was wondering if there's any current/upcoming movies people would like to see. Suggestions for January include: Night at the Museum and Children of Men. -Geek Tour: I was thinking of doing one in early February, so I was wondering if there's any interest or if people have requests for stores and places to visit. See you on Thursday! -Louise General Info: SciFi Club is a place to get to know your fellow geeks on campus and to enjoy scifi/fantasy/geek related activities. Our primary means of communication is through the List Serve. I'll try and update the site as often as possible, but the List Serve is the best way to go if you want to know for sure what's going on. The info for our weekly meetings is: Date: Thursdays Time: 7:00 Activity: It varies, usually movies, or gaming, suggestions are always welcome though. Place: 1651 Humanities Also, for weekend events from time to time we go on "Geek Tours of Madison" to various book and gaming and comic stores around the city and go see movies we're interested in as a group too.
